Creating with Triptych Records: Music, Merch, and Live Streams

Building Something Bigger Than Music

Triptych Records has always been about more than just putting out albums, they’re about building a community. Based in Denton, Texas, Triptych became a creative home for three powerhouse bands: Sunbuzzed, Strays, and Felt & Fur.

This was my very first long-term freelance gig and it shaped everything that came after. As their content creator and social media manager, I had the chance to tell stories through images, strategy, and collaboration. It challenged me and pushed me to grow in ways I couldn’t have expected, and I’ll always be thankful for that opportunity.

My Role Behind the Scenes

From the start, my job was to capture the energy of Triptych’s artists and translate it into visuals & content that felt as dynamic as the music. That meant:

  • Live show coverage across Denton’s iconic venues (Rubber Gloves, Dan’s Silverleaf, & more)

  • Vinyl and merch release photography

  • Behind-the-scenes content that gave fans a deeper look

  • Full campaign visuals & social posting for album launches

Every shoot taught me something new: how to work with low light, how to keep things moving, and how to find the moments that matter.

Adapting During the Pandemic

When the pandemic brought live music to a halt, we had to pivot fast. I helped organize and run live-streamed album releases so the bands could stay connected with their audiences during a time when connection felt scarce.

Setting up those streams was a learning curve. It wasn’t just about logistics, but about recreating the live show feeling through a screen. It pushed my creativity in ways I hadn’t experienced before and gave me a deeper understanding of how to build intimacy and excitement remotely.

Shaping Each Band’s Identity

Each Triptych band had its own sound and aesthetic:

Why Content Creation Matters for Independent Music

In a digital world, music isn’t just about sound, it’s about the story you tell around it. From a simple promo photo to a full campaign, consistent visuals help indie artists reach new audiences and stay rooted in the communities they’ve already built.

If you’re a band, label, or creative collective, authentic content makes all the difference.

Triptych Records will always hold a special place in my heart. That experience taught me how to be adaptable, how to communicate visually under pressure, and how to collaborate with artists in a way that feels meaningful and sustainable.

It laid the foundation for the creative work I do now, and I’m still using what I learned there in every project I take on.
