Hey there! I’m Juniper (they/them), a Dallas-based photographer who believes in capturing real moments, creating gorgeous art, and making everyone feel seen and celebrated — especially if you’ve ever felt like you didn’t quite fit the mold.
Spoiler alert: Neither did I.
From Homemade Movies to Heartfelt Portraits
Before I ever stepped behind a camera as a creative, I was just a wild kid growing up in the Rio Grande Valley — you know, that humid, sun-soaked stretch of South Texas right on the border. My hometown in Harlingen quiet literally used to be “The Cheapest Place to Live in America”, however now I think it’s been promoted to second cheapest. We didn’t have much, but we had imagination, palm trees, H-E-B, and drive-thru taquerias with better tacos than most big cities could dream of.
I spent my childhood building little worlds out of nothing — filming homemade movies on an old silver MacBook using Photobooth like it was Oscar-winning technology. I was 10 years old shouting “ACTION!” in my bedroom, casting my little sibling, dog, and neighbors in epic thrillers or awkward comedy skits. It was the early 2000s — the era of burnt CDs, flip phones, and Windows XP — and I was sure I’d be famous for my silly youtube movies.
That love of storytelling stuck with me.
At 17, I started working in film and TV production, becoming a television editor for my first real job ever. and it didn’t take long before I discovered photography — a way to blend that cinematic eye with something even more powerful: people’s real lives. Now I use my background in film to create portraits that feel like art — full of personality, emotion, and intention.

Growing up in the RGV taught me to be resourceful, warm, and scrappy — qualities I bring into every shoot. Whether I’m photographing a couple’s engagement session or helping a family turn their memories into a gallery wall, I approach it with heart, humor, and a deep appreciation for people’s stories — especially the ones that don’t often get the spotlight. That includes LGBTQIA+ folks, People of Color, and anyone who’s ever felt overlooked, underrepresented, or unsure of how they’d be seen through a lens.

I grew up closeted, queer, & nonbinary in Texas. And listen... I don’t want to say that was a challenge, but IYKYK. We’re talking the kind of place where wearing a glittery pin might cause a scandal at the grocery store.
So when I became a photographer, I knew my goal wasn’t just to take pretty pictures. It was to create a space where you could show up fully as yourself — no questions, no judgment, no explaining. Just joy.

I’m not the kind of photographer who’ll rush you through a shoot. I’m the one who will stop everything to adjust your collar, make sure your lipstick didn’t smudge, and hype you up like you’re walking the red carpet.
